Spelling Champ Tests Skills at County Bee

London Smith, Monsignor Slade Catholic School's champion speller for the 2021-2022 school year competed in the 34th annual Anne Arundel County Spelling Bee on Saturday.

The annual spelling competition, held in person this year, is presented by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Office of Secondary Reading, English, and Integrated Literacy.  London represented Monsignor Slade well.  Her competitive spelling run ended on the word excursion, but she received a medal and was recognized as one of 24 elite spellers in the county.
