Slade Donates 880 Pounds of Toys and Uniforms to Apopka!
Monsignor Slade Catholic School students, teachers, families, and alumni families helped us to send more to Apopka in 2017 than we did last year!
After the members of student council packed up the toys (Thank you to Mr. Morris, from the U-Store of Glen Burnie, for donating some boxes!) and parents boxed up old uniforms, 28 boxes (weighing 880 pounds) are on the way to HOPE CommUnity, in Apopka, Florida. Southwest Cargo stepped up once again to help deliver the packages at no cost to Monsignor Slade Catholic School. We even had a Slade alumnus return to his alma mater as part of the wonderful Southwest Cargo team this morning! Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students made Christmas cards for the staff at Southwest Cargo to show appreciation for their help with this project and to send Merry Christmas wishes.
Pogo sticks, soccer balls, footballs, baby dolls, Barbies, Hatchimals, Legos, and more will make Christmas merrier for many of the children whose parents will be excited to shop at HOPE CommUnity Center's Christmas Store very soon. Monsignor Slade Catholic School could not keep this 35-plus year tradition alive without the continued dedication and generosity of our students and their families, or our valuable partners, Southwest Cargo and the U-Store of Glen Burnie,
