1st Annual Dr. Seuss Night

What a hit...fun was had by all! Children and adults enjoyed the various activities at our first Dr. Seuss Night! Stories were read, games were played, crafts were created, and door prizes were presented throughout the evening. We are looking forward to next year's event! Slade Students Stand Out during CSW 2016 Celebration Masses!

The enrollment at Monsignor Slade Catholic School in Glen Burnie is 598 students -- Slade began Catholic Schools Week Jan. 31 by encouraging students to wear their uniform to Sunday Mass. Thanks to the many Slade students who participated and had their pictures taken with parish priests while at church -- Go Slade!

Robot ensures teen won't miss school while fighting disease

While most 13-year-olds look forward to days off from class, Emily Kolenda wants to go to school. The sixth-grade student at Monsignor Slade Catholic School has had a rare disease — acute disseminated encephalomyelitis — since she was 9. She rarely missed school before an MRI revealed lesions on her brain. Now, she won’t have to miss class. Emily has a robot — dubbed W.O.A.W.O.A. —that takes her place at her Glen Burnie school. With the help of an iPad connected to it, Emily can “walk” through the school, talk to her classmates and answer questions.
