Class of 2022 edges parents and coaches in friendly, but competitive basketball game

The Class of 2022 led early in a fast-paced, entertaining basketball game against their parents and coaches.

Mrs. Cox started off the evening with prayer, then Gabby Kelch and June Newell sang the National Anthem.

More than 20 parents laced up their basketball shoes to take on the Class of 2022.  Eighth grade students, whether having played for Slade teams, participated in other sports, or just joined in recess pick-up games or gym class, every student who came to play had an opportunity to run the court.

As the end of the game loomed, the score remained close: Class of 2022 - 30 vs. Parents 27.  The teams continued to trade points back and forth until the soon-to-be graduates pulled away in the waning seconds.  The eighth grade students defeated their parents and coaches, 49-33.
