Archbishop Lori Visits for Catholic Schools Week
In celebration of Catholic Schools Week, our school community welcomed Archbishop Lori for a visit. Eighth grade students, Khloe B. and Nathan B., led our visitors on a tour while other eighth grade students, Hannah C., Gabriel S., Hunter S. and Chinemerem U. joined Archbishop Lori, Father Tyler, Mr. Farno, Mrs. Murphy, and Mrs. Robinson for lunch.
Kindergarten students shared why their teacher, Mrs. Natalie McFarlane, deserved the 2024 Teacher of the Year Award. Archbishop Lori assisted first grade teachers with grammar lessons, then joined second grade students in some two-digit subtraction.
One of the final stops on the tour was Mr. Carter's music classroom where students shared what they had learned while preparing essays and presentations on famous composers.
Monsignor Slade Catholic School was certainly blessed by the Department of Catholic Schools visit and Archbishop Lori's presence. It was wonderful to share the Spirit of Slade with our visitors who enjoyed the opportunity to discover more about the Catholic education offered to students in Pre-K2-8th grade in northern Anne Arundel County.
